The primary driver for the couple to take a weekend trip to Baltimore was so that Sarah could see one of her favorite bands, Lord Huron, at the Merriweather Post Pavilion. They arrived at the Airbnb, an apartment decked out in southwest charm dubbed Rancho Relaxo, in time for dinner before heading to the venue. Fortunately, their seats were under the covered part of the venue, as it began pouring halfway through the concert. First Aid Kit, a band fronted by two Swedish sisters, opened the show. Their luck soured a bit when a party of five in row in front of them decided they needed to stand and dance like drunken goons the whole concert, blocking the view of Lord Huron's amazing sets with mountains, cacti, and skulls. Luckily, there were large screens showing close-ups of the performance, allowing them to watch. A memorable moment from the Lord Huron performance was when the lead singer emerged on stage wearing a skull mask to sing a song about bringing the dead back to life. On the drive back to the Airbnb, Hunter told Sarah for the first time that she was his best friend.

The next day, they went to the National Aquarium, one of the best in the country (which may be why they get the title of being the aquarium of the nation). It was still in the COVID era, so they were a little overwhelmed by the number of people crammed into the building on a Monday, but fortunately, they had a spare mask for Hunter to borrow at the front desk. They saw some cool jellyfish, including some species that were named after fancy hats; a very charismatic puffin that enjoyed putting on a show for his audience; a dolphin playing with a green ball; some sawtooth sharks that liked to stay close to each other; nurse sharks that could sleep on the bottom of the tank because they don't need to keep swimming to breathe the way other sharks do; big rays that floated so majestically over everything else; a frisky turtle that thought it was a good idea to bite another, bigger turtle in the foot (chasing ensued); caiman that were well-disguised and sleeping underwater; moon jellies that they got to run their fingers over the top of; horseshoe crabs that were part of a touching exhibit but were as far away from the little reaching hands as they could be; and lots of anemones and corals that kept getting bathed in artificial wave-blasts of water every 45 seconds. On the way back to the car, they passed some old ships and a submarine in the harbor that were part of another area museum. Too quickly, their getaway was over.
