The Torpedo Factory is a unique arts center located in the historic building of an old torpedo factory in Old Town Alexandria. Artists can rent the gallery spaces to do their work and sell it to the people who visit the factory. Sarah and Hunter visited the Torpedo Factory during one of their first visits to Hunter's sister, Rachel, and nephew, Andrew. They later went back with Hunter's brother, Dustin, when he was visiting Virginia. What's so cool about the Torpedo Factory is that you can see so many styles of art in one place, and the factory is huge, so you can spend well over an hour wandering through the galleries and still not have seen it all. It only costs if you decide to buy some art, and it is located right next to the harbor in Old Town. The art rotates as new artists rent space and those already stationed in the building sell their inventory and make new art pieces. Dustin had never been before, so they made a trip of it and putzed around the shops in Old Town. Both Hunter and Dustin were suckered into setting up recurring donations to Doctors Without Borders by a skilled salesman who cornered them on the street.
