The Trans Eternal Railway

1,975 pieces | Funwhole: F9039
Assembled by Mike Alfare, June 2025
Interaction Rating: 3 / 5 (interaction with the set is okay, but only with help from an adult)
Premise: Eleanor Shellstrop (Kristin Bell) dies and finds herself in The Good Place—or so she thinks. She soon discovers she's actually in the Bad Place. She teams up with others she meets to try to escape a fate of eternal torture and earn their way into the real Good Place.
Favorite Moments: One of the characters, Chidi, reaches a low point during the show when he realizes how difficult it will be to beat the literal demons they're up against to reach The Good Place. He has a breakdown that involves making a pot of chili in front of a classroom full of students he's supposed to be teaching. He adds Peeps candies to the chili while singing, "You put the Peeps in the chili pot and eat them both up. You put the Peeps in the chili pot and add the M&Ms." The couple also loves the show's core lesson that there is no ethical consumption in a capitalist system.
Bad Place-to-Good Place Transporter

254 pieces | LEGO: 41097 (retired)
Assembled by Kristy Williams, June 2025
Interaction Rating: 5 / 5 (interaction with the set is encouraged)
Significance of the Sets:
Old West Train Station: One of the main modes of transportation between neighborhoods in the afterlife is a train that is operated by a robot named Janet. Minus the Western theme, the train station reminds the couple of the central station in the show for Neighborhood 12358W.
Hot Air Balloon: To get to The Good Place, the characters must pass a test to determine whether they are currently the best possible version of themselves before they can enter the hot air balloon that will take them from The Bad Place to The Good Place.
Cactus: The robot assistant in the show, Janet (think Siri or Alexa but personified), breaks down during the show and can't correctly fulfill requests. When asked for Eleanor's file, Janet brings a cactus instead.
Where It's Streaming: Peacock; the show's finale aired in 2020.
Their Reason for Watching: Sarah loved the show the first time she watched it with her sister, Emma. It's both laugh-out-loud funny and makes you cry, all while you ponder the meaning of life. She knew Hunter would enjoy the show's moral humor and critique of capitalism.
