628 pieces | LEGO: 42626
Assembled by Sarah Wilkinson, March 2025
Interaction Rating: 5 / 5 (interaction with the set is encouraged)
Premise: The absurd antics of an Indiana town's public officials as they pursue sundry projects to make their city a better place.
Favorite Moments: Sarah's favorite moment is when Leslie and Ron get locked in the old Parks & Rec office in City Hall by their friends to force them to make up their feud and become friends again. When everyone returns the next morning, Ron is wearing tight yoga-style clothes (totally out of character) and playing the saxophone, while Leslie is making up lyrics to "We Didn't Start the Fire" in a manic state of exhaustion. Hunter appreciates when Ron is seen climbing into an air duct in City Hall to retrieve his emergency pack that he stashed there in case his wife, Tammy I, ever came back for him so he could flee. He also loves any scene where Ron is eating ungodly amounts of bacon and Leslie is eating her stress through waffles (something Sarah also does).
Significance of the Set: The couple struggled to find a suitable set to represent Parks and Recreation. Unlike The Office, LEGO never released a set for Parks and Recreation. When they saw the adventure camp set, it immediately brought them back to the episode where Ron takes the all-male Pawnee Rangers on a camping trip and Leslie brings the Pawnee Goddesses (all-female at first, but later open to all genders) to the same campground to show Ron that her troop will have more fun. Her goal is to annoy Ron since he wouldn't let girls come on his trip, and she gets cocky when all of the Rangers desert Ron's camp to join the Goddesses instead. Although there aren't many water-based activities featured during the episode, fishing is included. Additionally, the camp cabins in that episode have a similar vibe to this set.
Where It's Streaming: Peacock; the finale aired in 2015.
Reason They Watched: Sarah loved the show and hankered to watch it again with Hunter, so that they could love it together.
