For their fourth date, Hunter came over to Sarah's house for the first time, and they watched the Disney movie, Encanto. Well, "watch" may be a strong word, but they sat through the whole film, nervous energy buzzing through them. They second-guessed every move: should they sit on the big couch or the little couch? Should they hold hands? Should they talk or try to focus on the movie's plot? Hunter wondered whether he should put his arm around Sarah's shoulders, but before he could make a move, she cuddled into him, where she stayed for the entirety of the film. The detail Sarah most remembered after the movie was Isabella, the character whose magical ability allows her to create beautiful flowers. If you'd asked Sarah that day to recount any other characters or details of the plot, she would have struggled. All she could hear and feel was her heart beating wildly in her chest. They had no idea what was going to happen next, but they wanted to find out—together.

They reencountered Encanto when Sarah met Hunter's nephew, Andrew. At the time, Andrew was obsessed with watching Encanto repeatedly. Even so, Sarah and Hunter weren't able to recount the whole plot of the movie until they watched it again one evening in the fall of 2024 (but please don't quiz them).
