Just think how dragonflies can be made out of an entire gallon of brick separators!
Just think how dragonflies can be made out of an entire gallon of brick separators!

Instructions:

  1. Gather your building supplies, starting with three or five brick separators, depending on what type of dragonfly you want to build. Refer to the photo above for examples of various building options.

  2. Next, gather the flat bricks you'll need to hold the brick separators together to form the dragonfly's body. You can use a combination of brick lengths and shapes. Have fun with it!

  3. Finally, choose the studs you want to use for the dragonfly's eyes. There are not enough eye pieces for every dragonfly, so you may select other studs that look like eyes to you. You can even stack studs to give your dragonfly's face a little dimension.

  4. That's it! No glue is required. Your dragonfly should be solid and stay together, and it is yours to take home. If you need help, don't hesitate to ask for it.

DIY Brick Earrings

Instructions:

  1. If you're under thirteen, ensure you have an adult available to assist you before you begin.

  2. Gather your materials. You will need two matching earring posts (silver and gold colors are available) and two earring backs (silver, gold, and clear are available). All materials are nickel-free.

  3. Select the bricks you will include as part of your earrings. Get as creative as you wish! For simple earrings, you may only need one piece for each earring (such as the ladybugs, bees, donuts, strawberries, or fried eggs in the sample photo). You can create more elaborate earrings with additional pieces if you prefer. Assemble your bricks as you like for each earring in your pair before proceeding to the next step.

  4. Once you have all your materials and bricks, it's time to use the E6000 glue to attach the earring post to the base brick of your earrings. The base brick is the one that will be connected directly to the earring post, and other bricks may be built on top of it.

    1. Please note that not all earring posts are the same size. Some will fit inside the brick base you select, while others may line up with it exactly. Ensure the glue you apply to the earring post reaches the part of the base brick to which it will adhere.

    2. Any bricks that the glue touches will be permanently bonded, so ensure everything is arranged exactly as you want it. If the glue gets on the

    3. When done using the glue, double-check that it can't leak onto anything. If you have glue on your hands, there's a sink in the bathroom or the kitchen for you to wash your hands.

  5. Once the earring posts have been adhered to the base bricks, rest your earrings on the drying rack with the earring posts up. Use a sticky note to label the earrings as belonging to you. Please let them dry for as long as you can (the longer they dry, the more secure they'll be). Don't forget to get them before you leave!

  6. When it's time to take your earrings home, grab an organza drawstring bag to put them in. Make sure you have the earring backs for your set!
