For their third date, the couple met for a walk around Libby Hill Park, situated on a hill that overlooks part of the city known as Shockoe Bottom. It was a winter weeknight, so they caught an early sunset from the park's gazebo. They remember it being a pretty one smeared with pink, and as the sun faded, they could see the lights twinkling below in the Bottom. Sarah and Hunter walked for a couple of hours, admiring the old-fashioned lamps dotting the park and ending up down by the James River (beyond the park's boundaries). They found an Irish pub (just like the song says: everywhere you go, you'll find an Irish pub), but didn't stop in. They were almost run over by a car once (a common occurrence in Richmond). When they made it back to the park, they sat on the edge of a fountain (broken, also very in character for Richmond). Sarah remembers talking about Hunter's interest in Dungeons & Dragons, Renaissance Faires, and conventions (like Kami Con, which is an anime convention he attended in Alabama). Sarah is a fellow nerd, but of a different kind, so she listened closely as he talked about these worlds that were unknown to her. They kissed goodbye on a hill where her car was parked. Something was blooming between them, electrifying the air as they got in their cars and drove away.
