For the past six years, Hunter has been playing Dungeons & Dragons (DND) once or twice a week with his friends, Wyatt, Nich, and Autumn. After a little over four months of dating, Hunter brought Sarah with him for a Monday night session with his friends. They usually play a long-standing campaign, but since Sarah wasn't part of that story, Hunter took a turn as Dungeon Master and led them through a one-off campaign about trying to find an apple pie recipe in a bakery overrun by goblins. This wasn't Sarah's first time playing DND (she'd once had a short-lived elf character in college named Will Feral, after Will Ferrell, obviously). Hunter enjoyed introducing Sarah to the fantasy world that he built with his friends each week, and watching her laugh with the group. As they packed back into the car to head home, Hunter realized he'd forgotten his wallet and had to run back in. His friend Wyatt expressed his support for Hunter and Sarah's budding relationship, confirming that the night had been a success (and he found his wallet, thankfully). Driving back to her house, they got on the topic of the future, and Hunter suggested that if a time came to purchase rings, he would not buy her a diamond (as Hunter is especially disdainful of the diamond industry). She charmed him when she quipped back that she preferred pearls anyway.
