Premise: "EPIC" reimagines the tale of "The Odyssey," chronicling the adventures of Odysseus as he makes his way back to Ithaca from Troy. His path is obstructed by mythical creatures, deities, and other legendary beings, keeping him from reuniting with his wife, Penelope, and their son, Telemachus.
Favorite Song: Hunter loves a good musical, and this one has been playing on repeat ever since it started to come out in installments in 2022. "Dangerous" is Hunter's favorite song of the 40 tracks in the musical. It's about Odysseus when he's on his raft trying to get home and doesn't know how he'll get through Poseidon's storm. Hermes shows up with a bag that contains all the storm's winds. (To find out what happens after that, you have to listen to the following songs in the musical!)
Set Significance: The majority of the story takes place on a ship as the crew and Odysseus try to get home from fighting in the Trojan War.
Where It's Streaming: Spotify and YouTube; the finale of the musical was released Christmas Day 2024.
Reason They Listened: Hunter is a fan of good historical musicals and came across this one as it was still being released in installments. He likes to play music while cooking or driving, and Sarah also enjoys this musical (especially when the alternative is sad Irish music), so it gets a lot of airtime.
