As Sarah and Hunter got underway with planning their wedding, they knew they needed some professional photos that they could use on their invitations (and make custom brick sets out of, obviously). When Sarah's childhood best friend, Kalin, was in Virginia for a visit in October, it was the perfect opportunity for an engagement photoshoot. In addition to being a wonderful mother to three beautiful babes, Kalin is also a self-taught professional photographer. She made sure to bring her camera equipment with her from Indiana, and on the last night of her trip, they took advantage of the golden hour leading up to sunset to take some photos of the couple at the lake near their house.

Assembled by Hunter Williams, March 2025

Interaction Rating: 4 / 5 (interaction with the set is encouraged, but use extra care)

The results were so much more magical than the couple could have hoped for. Sarah wore the flowy, deep green dress and matching crown she bought for the Maryland Renaissance Festival (before tickets sold out and they couldn't go). You may notice that Hunter wore three different shirts across the various locations where they took photos, and they all look fantastic. In some of the shots, Kalin instructed Hunter to whisper into my ear to elicit laughter, so he whispered literal sweet nothings in her ear (sometimes just making random noises or speaking gibberish). When you see Sarah laughing in photos, know that she's not laughing with him, but at him and his silliness, which has always been something she loves about Hunter. Below, enjoy a collection of their favorite photos from the engagement shoot, and don't forget to say hi to Kalin when you see her. She's the photographer for the wedding, too (along with another childhood friend, Danna)!
