On the day after Sarah's birthday, the couple joined their friend, Vanessa, for an evening of Drag Bingo at Diversity, a local nonprofit that supports the LGBTQ+ community. Vanessa had been before, but it was Sarah and Hunter's first time. They couldn't remember the last time they'd played bingo, but with dauber in hand, they were ready for some fun with prizes on the line. The host of the evening was a Queen wearing a Little Mermaid get-up, complete with a long, shiny red wig. She had the whole room, which was huge, laughing with her emcee skills. In between rounds of bingo, there were more Queens who would come out and perform, wearing dazzling outfits and precarious high heels, and using the entire room as their stage. One Queen in particular impressed them by jumping up in the air and landing down in a full split. OW! Even Sarah, the former gymnast, couldn't imagine doing that without being in crazy pain afterward. Between the three of them, not a single one hit a bingo during the night, but they laughed enough to make the night a rousing success.
