For their third anniversary, Sarah wanted to do something special with Hunter. They'd been spending a lot of time at home, putting brick sets together in preparation for their wedding, which meant they'd been going on fewer adventures. Sarah read in a local newsletter that an acrobatic version of Alice in Wonderland was coming to the Dominion Energy Center in Richmond (it may or may not have caught her eye because she was looking for a story to connect to the Alice in Wonderland book brick set she'd discovered). Hunter was down to go, so they bought tickets, had dinner at Jason's Deli, fought with the parking lot's payment app, and took their seats up in the nosebleeds. As the show was getting underway, Sarah realized that a local aerialist troupe was putting on the production, so all the actors in the play were local, making it an extra special experience. They settled in for two hours of dialogue-free, strobe-light-fueled acrobatic action involving swings, floating hoops, ropes, trapezes, aerial fabric, and more. The final act involved the actress playing Alice pulling herself to the top of the stage up a rope. Once she made it up there, someone at the bottom started to swing the rope in big circles, which allowed Alice to fly in circles at the top, holding on with only one hand. It was unlike anything else they'd ever seen, and a great way to celebrate their anniversary.
