Leading up to the graduation of Sarah's sister, Emma, the couple attended a mini family reunion at Spring Run Vineyards. A band was playing that night, but they could hardly tell you what music they played because Sarah and Hunter were busy with family. Sarah's brother, Seth, was in attendance from Arizona. Hunter was able to meet Sarah's cousins, Carson and Sydney, for the first time. Sarah's mom and cousin (also named Sarah) were there too. Food trucks were on site, so everyone (aside from Sarah, due to her dietary restrictions) enjoyed some takeout and caught up. They managed to snap a great family photo before everyone dispersed, even if Hunter, ever the jokester, did bunny ears behind Sarah's head.

Hunter wasn't able to get off work to attend Emma's official graduation from Virginia Commonwealth University, but Sarah wouldn't have missed it for the world. Emma graduated with a double major in Sociology and Philosophy. She won an unexpected award during the ceremony in recognition of how she'd bridged theory and practice during her time in undergrad. It was quite emotional for Sarah and her mom. Later that night, to celebrate, the couple met up with Emma and her friends for karaoke at Thirsty's, a gay bar in Southside Richmond. Sarah's mom, brother, and Uncle Roger all joined. It was packed inside, but eventually they all found seats near the karaoke. Emma and her friend Charlie sang Gotye's "Somebody That I Used to Know." They were quite good! The other acts, including a rousing rendition of "Sit on My Face" from Monty Python, were very entertaining. Seth and Roger were both without their spouses, and it was a gay bar where men, especially those with a stereotypically masculine appearance, typically do very well. So, they got hit on a few times, which they found amusing. Sarah and Hunter did not find the courage to get up and sing, but it was fun to watch!

From right to left: Bonnie, Emma, Charlie (Emma's friend), the couple, Sarah K. (Sarah W.'s cousin), Sydney (Sarah W.'s cousin and Sarah K.'s daughter), Carson (Sarah W.'s cousin and Sarah K.'s son), Seth. Did you get that? Blame Bonnie for giving Sarah W. the same name as her cousin, Sarah K., and then moving them into the same neighborhood.
