The couple's six-month anniversary began with banana waffles, which Hunter had made fresh, and they enjoyed them on Sarah's screened porch. Hunter regaled them with historical stories from the time of the Crusades (because he's a bit of an oddball). They headed to the Quirk Hotel on West Broad Street, which was hosting a local artisan market that day. They browsed the wares, which ranged from jewelry and hand-painted cards to clothing and vintage items, all the way to $48 mugs made to look like demons. After Hunter bought a delicious-looking loaf of artisan bread, they walked up and down West Broad to see what they could find, neither of them having spent much time in that part of the city up to that point (Sarah would later frequent the area because the tattoo shop where she got her sleeve done was located there). They found a vintage home store, and Sarah watched as, on cue, Hunter immediately gravitated toward the items made from wood (an obsession of his). Sarah kept tripping on the uneven sidewalks in her platform sandals, and Hunter swooped in each time, catching her before she fell—her hero.

Although Hunter drove them to the next stop on their anniversary tour, he didn't know their destination. Sarah wanted it to be a surprise, and Hunter had fun trying to guess (he never got anywhere close). When they pulled up in front of the Black Heath Meadery, Hunter was surprised. Since Sarah can't drink mead due to her medical condition, Hunter felt it was especially sweet that she wanted to take him there. He'd never been before, but she'd bought him a bottle of strawberry mead before, and he loved it. Hunter ordered a flight of meads, and they sat on the back patio alone, swatting the flies and stealing kisses in between sips of his meads. They toasted to six months together and looked forward to many more.
